Lawrence High School Chess Tournament

K-6, K-9, K-12

February 13, 2010

Where:  Lawrence High School, 1901 Louisiana St., Lawrence, KS  66046

Registration: 8:15‑9:00 am, Sat., February 13.  Registration tables will be in the high school rotunda, immediately inside the main entrance from North parking lot.  First round begins at 9:30.

Rounds: 6 Round Swiss tournament (Game 30); 3 Sections: K‑12; K‑9; K‑6.

     Games will be played in East (Main) Gym.

Entry Fee: $7 pre‑registered (by Thursday night, payment made at tournament)

 $10 on‑site registration

Prizes: Trophies for top 3 teams in each section; Medals for top 20 individuals in each section

Lunch: available on site in skittles area (Cafeteria).

Equipment: Please bring boards, sets and clocks.

Late entries (after 9 am) will not be paired in the first round.

Directions:

From Kansas City: take K‑10 east to Lawrence, which becomes 23rd Street.  Continue west on 23rd St. to Louisiana Street.  Turn right and proceed to 19th St. Turn left and proceed to parking lot entrances northwest of school (1901 Louisiana).  Enter building by main entrance by “Chesty Lion” statue at SE corner of parking lot.

From Topeka: take I‑70 to West Lawrence exit. Follow Iowa Street south to 19th St. Turn left and follow 19th for approximately 1 mile.  Lawrence High School and its sports fields will be on your right.  Proceed to parking lot entrances northwest of school (1901 Louisiana).  Enter building by main entrance by “Chesty Lion” statue at SE corner of parking lot.

From south of Lawrence: take US 59 north to Lawrence and proceed north on this street (Iowa St.) to 19th St. Turn right and follow 19th for approximately 1 mile.  Lawrence High School and its sports fields will be on your right.  Turn right at parking lot entrances northwest of school (1901 Louisiana).  Enter building by main entrance by “Chesty Lion” statue at SE corner of parking lot.
